A Little Something Lovely, From Our Creative Corner in Alykanas
Oh go on then… let’s have a little natter about gifts, crafts and gorgeous bits for the home, shall we?
You may know us for orchestrating wildly fabulous weddings here in sunny Zante (confetti in the hair, prosecco in hand, the usual magic ), but plot twist — we also run the loveliest little gift shop and craft studio in Alykanas.
Tucked away in the heart of the village, our shop is brimming with treasures that are anything but your standard “three-for-a-tenner” souvenir fare. During the winter months, when the island exhales and the tourists toddle home, my team and I get wonderfully busy designing and making our own pieces with rather a lot of tea, enthusiasm and glitter. We also source from brilliant independent makers, because life’s too short for mass-produced tat.
We’re terribly proud of being eco-conscious too. Around here, “waste not, want not” isn’t just something your nan used to say — it’s practically a business model. We rescue and reimagine materials, transforming them into dreamy macramé creations, whimsical dreamcatchers and one-of-a-kind home décor pieces.
One of our favourite projects? Our clothing recycling workshops. Lovely locals from Zakynthos bring us their pre-loved garments, and together we turn them into beautiful handcrafted pieces with a whole new story to tell. Sustainable and sentimental — we adore that.
Being based by the sea does rather influence us. You’ll find driftwood, sea glass, pebbles, sand and shells woven into our designs — little captures of island life that you can pop in your suitcase.
And if you fancy getting hands-on (highly recommended, especially with a glass of something chilled nearby), we run workshops for both grown-ups and little creatives. Think ceramic painting, personalised plaques, pebble art, canvas painting and macramé sessions — all relaxed, friendly and delightfully messy in the best possible way.
